ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Neumann College softball team swept Rosemont College in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) doubleheader Friday afternoon. Game scores were 12-0 and 16-0, both in five innings.

Angela Sebasto and Caitlin Hanrahan each had three RBI in game one. Sebasto pitched the first three innings, allowed one hit and struck out eight. Rachel Purpuro pitched the final two innings and struck out five.

Neumann put two runs on the board in the first inning. The Knights then broke out the bats in the second inning and plated eight runs. Hanrahan hit a three-run homerun in the inning. Neumann won the game 12-0.

In game two, Lauren Hanson led the Knights going 3-for-3, scoring three runs and knocking in three RBI. Stephanie Marrone, Lauren Castiello and Nikki Brown all had two RBI.

Sarah McGann pitched the first three inning for the Knights. She allowed just one hit and struck out five. Julia Keenan and Brittany Campbell each pitched an inning and struck out two.

Neumann put one inning on the board in the first inning before breaking out with 10 runs in the second. Hanson and Marrone hit back-to-back two-run doubles in the inning.

Neumann improves to 27-9 overall and 19-1 in the conference. The Knights will wrap up its conference schedule tomorrow at Centenary. The doubleheader is set to begin at 1 p.m.
