Women's Tennis wins at Home

The Neumann University women's tennis team defeated MAC opponent DeSales University for the first time in program history, 7-2, Friday afternoon.

The Knights swept two of the two doubles points. The team of Kayla Chamberlain and Allison Trout defeated Amelia Lloyd and Yllka Cana, 8-5, at third doubles. The duo of Jasper Thomson and Michelle Steward won 8-4 over Krista Damirgian and Ariane Cain at second doubles.

Neumann took momentum from doubles to singles to take five out of six singles point to win the match. Lindsey Ravior clinched the match for the Knights, defeating Cain 7-5, 6-1 at fourth singles. Thomson earned her first collegiate single win battling Christine Petrilla, 2-6, 7-5(11-9), 11-9 super breaker third set at second singles.  Trout won at third singles defeating Damirgian  6-1, 6-1. Steward rolled past Lloyd, 6-1, 6-1 at fifth singles. Chamberlain rounded out the wins for Neumann winning past Cana, 6-3, 6-2.

The Knights come back to the courts Wednesday September 9, when they play Goucher College. The match is set of to start at 3:30pm.
