Neumann would finish the final seven minutes of the half on a 15-5 run to go into the locker room up 40-20.
The second half featured team runs as Neumann had to work hard to stay perfect. Cabrini started the second half with a 9-4 run to cut into Neumann's lead. The Knights responded with a 13-1 run over the next three and a half minutes to jump out to a 27 point lead, 57-30. However, Cabrini would not go quietly and netted the next eight points. The Cavaliers run was stopped by a lay-up by Young, followed by four points by Cecily Scavicchio.
Again, Cabrini went on another run, this time an 11-0 run to cut Neumann's lead to 12, 63-51, with 6:09 left on the clock. Feby ended that run with a three-pointer. The Cavaliers would get to within 10 points, 68-58, with 2:12 left, but would not get any closer. Neumann built its lead back up on free throws to end the game and seal the win.
This was only the second time that Head Coach Frank Farnese and his squad defeated Cabrini. The last time came in the 2005-06 season when the Knights defeated the Cavaliers 61-59 on a last second buzzer beater.
The win notches the Knights sixth straight win this season. Neumann will host Gwynedd-Mercy on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. at The Mirenda Center.
