ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team scored three goals in the third period to win 5-3 over Brockport Saturday evening in non-conference action.
David Gervais had two goals and two assists in the win. Brent Tamane notched a goal and an assist. Cory Park dished out two assists. Matt Tendler made 25 saves in net.
Brockport opened the scoring with a power play goal just 3:53 into the game. Neumann responded as Gervais scored his first goal of the contest just a minute later.
The Golden Eagles then scored a second power play 1:26 into the second period on a 5-on-3. Jake Kratz scored with 31 seconds left in the second period to tie the game at two.
Gervais scored his second goal of the game at the 13:28 mark of the third period to give Neumann its first lead of the contest. Brockport responded and tied the game back-up just over a minute later.
Brent Tamane scored the game-winning goal with 53 seconds left in regulation off a pass from Gervais. Marlon Gardner then scored an empty net goal to seal the win.
Neumann (7-3-1) will participate in the Plattsburgh St. Cardinal Classic on December 31st and January 1st.
