GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Neumann University baseball team opened its 2010 campaign with two losses to Guilford College, 15-2, 10-4, Saturday afternoon.

Matt Gallagher and Ross Sweeney were both 2-for-3 in the first game. Mike Scicutella had an RBI in the 15-2 loss. Scott Hammell started the game and went three innings. George Hatton went two innings in relief and struck out two. Art Wharton threw the final inning. 

In game two, Gallagher had two RBI in the 10-4 game. Ray Schmoltze started the game, going 3.2 innings. Joe Slater pitched 1.1 innings and struck out three. Sean Quigley pitched the sixth inning.

Neumann (0-2) will face Greensboro College tomorrow in a single game. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
