ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team will host its first conference playoff game in six years on Monday in the first round of the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) playoffs.
Neumann wrapped-up conference play with a 12-6 record. Immaculata and Gwynedd-Mercy also finished with a 12-6 conference record and the Knights won the head-to-head tie breaker to take the No. 3 seed. Immaculata is the No. 4 seed and will host No. 5 seeded Gwyneed-Mercy. Cabrini (No. 1) and Keystone (No. 2) receive byes in the first round.
Na'Sheed Linton leads the Knights this season, averaging 16.1 points per game. Marquise Boggs adds 11.2 points. Sean Armstrong notches 9.2 points and a team-high 7.0 rebounds per game. Ty Robinson contributes 9.6 points. Touré Wright pulls down 6.8 boards.
Neumann has had the same five starters in all 25 contests this season: Linton, Boggs, Armstrong, Robinson and Wright.
Off the bench, Mike Walukiewicz and Patrick O'Conner have played key roles this season. Walukiewicz has made a team-high 36 three-pointers. O'Conner puts in 7.0 points and grabs 4.1 rebounds.
Neumann won both games against Centenary during the regular season. In the first game, the Knight won 91-83 at home. Five Knights scored in double figures, led by Linton with 24 points and Robinson with 20.
At Centenary, Neumann won 82-78. Boggs led four Knights in double-digits with 18 points. Robinson added 17.
Tip-off on Monday will be at 7 p.m. in the Mirenda Center. The winner advances to the CSAC semifinals.
