ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University softball team swept Rosemont College to open Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action Friday afternoon.
In game one, the Knights put 12 on the board in the first inning while batting around twice. Jennifer Goslin went 3-for-4 with four runs scored and three RBI. Jacki Herrington also went 4-for-4 while knocking in three and scoring two. Rachel Purpuro pitched the one-hit shutout for her first win of the season.
Neumann started strong in game two as well, putting nine on the board in the first inning. Goslin opened the scoring with a two-run double. Lauren Castiello had four RBI while Colleen Mara knocked in three. Sarah McGann allowed one run on one hit for the win.
The Knights improve to 4-10 overall and 2-0 in the CSAC. Neumann will host Marywood tomorrow for a conference doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
