ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team completed a series sweep of Centenary College, 5-2, Sunday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match-up.
Bobby Callan was 2-for-4 and scored two runs for the Knights. Matt Gallagher was also 2-for-4, scored a run and had an RBI. Joe Armata went 2-for-4 as well and scored a run. Josh Krautwald went the distance for his first win of the season. In the 9.0 innings, he allowed two runs, one earned and struck out 12.
The Cyclones struck first in the top of the first with a run. Centenary added an unearned run in the top of the third to take a 2-0 lead.
The Knights struck back in the bottom half of the third inning with three runs. Callan opened the inning with a single. With one out, Neumann put together four straight singles to take the lead 3-2. The Knights added two more runs in the home half of the fourth and held on for the 5-2 win.
Neumann (8-8, 3-0 CSAC) will host Penn State-Brandywine on Wednesday for a single game beginning at 3:30 p.m.
