Softball Drops a Pair at Misericordia

DALLAS, Pa. – The Neumann University softball team dropped a pair of non-conference games to Misericordia University Wednesday afternoon. Game scores were 4-1 and 8-0 (5 innings).

The Cougars got on the board in the first inning to start game one. The Knights tied the game on an error in the fourth inning. Misericordia added three runs in the fifth inning to take the first game 4-1.

Brittany Campbell went 4.0 innings and allowed one run on seven hits and struck out two. Rachel Purpuro went two inning and took the loss. 

Sarah McGann started game two for Neumann and allowed four runs, three earned, on six hits while striking out three. Callie Emel pitched an inning.

The Knights could not get anything going in the second game. The Cougars plated four runs in the third, one in the fourth and three in the fifth for the 8-0 win.

Neumann (13-13) travels to Gwynedd-Mercy on Friday afternoon for conference action beginning at 3 p.m.
