GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Neumann University softball team completed its sweep of Gwynedd-Mercy College with a 9-0 win in completion of the suspended Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) game from last Friday.

Sarah McGann went 7.0 innings for the shutout win. She allowed five runs and struck out five. Lauren Castiello and Jennifer Goslin had three RBI for the Knights. 

Neumann opened the scoring in the third inning. Deanna Christy (jr. Aston, Pa. / Sun Valley) opened the inning with a triple and was knocked in by Stephanie Marrone. Goslin then hit a two-run single to knock in Marrone and Kim Kirkpatrick.

The Knights took advantage of a Griffins error in the fourth inning to plate four more runs. Castiello hit a bases-clearing double in the inning. Neumann added two more runs in the seventh inning for the 9-0 win.

Neumann (19-14, 17-1 CSAC) will travel to Philadelphia Biblical tomorrow for a CSAC doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
