LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Neumann University softball team took two games at Philadelphia Biblical University Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action. Game scores were Neumann 9, Phila. Biblical 1 and Neumann 12, Phila. Biblical 3.
In game one, Brittany Campbell pitched 7.0 innings and allowed one run on four hits. She struck out six en route to her seventh win of the season.
Jennifer Goslin was 3-for-4 with four RBI. Her hits included a homerun and a double. Crystal Perlman went 3-for-3 from the plate with three RBI and a homerun.
The Knights got on the board in the fourth inning to break the scoreless game. Neumann took advantage of a PBU error and plated three runs. Goslin had a two-run double in the fifth inning and then hit a two-run shot in the seventh inning. Perlman also hit a two-run homer in the seventh for the Knights nine runs. PBU scored its lone run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
In the second game, PBU scored first in the second inning. Neumann responded right away in the top of the third as Goslin knocked in two runs. PBU then took its second lead of the game with a run in the fourth.
The Knights bats game a live late in the game as they plated three runs in the sixth to take the lead and seven runs in the seventh inning.
In the seventh inning, Megan Mazur knocked in two runs and Kim Kirkpatrick knocked out a three-run shot.
Kirkpatrick finished the game going 3-for-4 with four RBI. Lauren Strack scored three runs. Rachel Purpuro went 5.0 innings and struck out seven for her seventh win of the season. Sarah McGann went 2.0 innings and struck out three for her third save.
Neumann (21-14, 19-1 CSAC) travels to Muhlenberg College on Tuesday for a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 3:30 p.m.
