GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Neumann University baseball team tied with Rowan University, 9-all, Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action.
Mike Dicken started the game for the Knights, going 6.0 innings. He allowed seven runs, none earned, on seven hits and struck out three. George Hatton, Matt Compton, Erik Klimoff and Joe Slater all pitched an inning.
Brent Tamane was 2-for-4 and knocked in two runs in the lead-off position. Matthieu Vallieres had two hits and Gary Mitchell knocked in two runs.
Rowan scored a run in the first and another in the third to take a 2-0 lead after three innings. The Knights tied the game at two in the fourth inning as Tamane had a two-run single. Neumann scored two more runs in the fifth to take a 4-2 advantage.
The Knights batted around in the sixth inning and plated four runs for a 9-4 lead. With a 9-3 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, the Profs sent eight men to the plate and scored four to pull to within one run.
Rowan scored its only earned run of the game in the bottom of the ninth inning to tie the game.
Neither team could score in the 10th inning and the game was called due to darkness.
The Knights (16-13-1) will host Immaculata this weekend in three conference games to wrap-up conference action. The single game will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday, the doubleheader will begin at 12 p.m.
