ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's tennis team picked up its first win of the young season with an 8-1 win over Keystone College in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match Tuesday afternoon.
The Knights started the match by taking two-of-three points in doubles action. The duo of Michelle Steward and Jasper Thomson took No. doubles by an 8-3 score. Jennie Greenlee and Nicole Alexopoulos won third doubles, 8-1.
In singles play, Neumann swept all six points. Thomson won her match at No. 1 singles, 6-5, 6-0. Steward then took No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-0. Gabrielle Porcelli won third singles, 6-4, 6-2. At fourth singles, Kristine Acosta won 6-2, 6-3. Alexopoulos won fifth singles (6-2, 6-2) and Greenlee took sixth singles (6-3, 6-1).
Neumann (1-1, 1-1 CSAC) will host Immaculata on Saturday in a conference match-up. They are set to get under way at 1 p.m. at Sun Valley High School.
