ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team defeated Utica College 5-1 Saturday evening in ECAC West action.

Jessica Schroeder had a goal and two assists for the Knights. Nikk Blazenko notched two goals. Khristine Acosta and Diane Peters each dished out two assists. Shannon Donnelly made 31 saves in net.

Utica scored first as MacKenzie Roy scored 6:26 into the first period. Brittany Metcalfe tied the game at one with 1:54 left in the first period.

Blazenko scored the eventual game-winner at the 16:39 mark of the second period.

Neumann then scored three goals in the third period to seal the win. Schroeder scored 3:03 into the third. Blazenko then made it 4-2 three and a half minutes later. Kayla Dubowski sealed the win with a power play goal with 1:29 left in the game.

Neumann improves to 11-6-3 overall and 8-6-1 in the ECAC West. Utica is 10-8 and 6-7 in the conference. These two teams will meet again tomorrow afternoon beginning at 3 p.m.
