CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team picked up its second straight shutout win by an 8-0 score at DeSales University on Tuesday afternoon.

Joey Armata went 3-for-5 with three RBI in the game. Kevin Flanigan and Bill Pace each had two hits. Derrek Etsell and Matt Grossi scored two runs apiece.

Ray Schmoltze pitched the complete game, three hit shutout. He struck out eight in the win.

The Knights got on the board with an unearned run in the third inning. Neumann then added a run in the fifth for a 2-0 lead.

Neumann walked three straight times to start the sixth inning, and all three runners came around to score. The Knights put three more on the board in the seventh for the 8-0 win.

Neumann improves to 12-3 on the season. The Knights travel to Richard Stockton College on Thursday for a non-conference single game beginning at 3:30 p.m.
