READING, Pa. – The Neumann University softball dropped two non-conference games to Alvernia University on Sunday afternoon. Game scores were 6-4 and 7-0.

In game one, Crystal Perlman opened the scoring in the third inning with a two-run homerun. Alvernia put a run on the board in the bottom of the third, and added three more in the fourth and two in the fifth for a 6-2 lead. The Knights would add two runs in the top of the sixth, but fell 6-4.

Brittany Campbell went 6.0 innings in the loss. She allowed six runs, five earned, and struck out three.

In the second game, Carley Gustin started the game and went one scoreless inning. Rachel Purpuro came in and allowed seven runs in 4.2 innings. She struck out five. Lacie Perry pitched 0.1 innings and struck out a batter.

Neumann (8-8) travels to Baptist Bible on Friday for a conference doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
