ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team welcomed Lancaster Bible College Wednesday afternoon with a 15-0 win in non-conference action.
Josh Krautwald got the win for the Knights pitching five innings, striking out six and only allowing one walk. Sean Quigley, Matt Compton, Scott Hammell and Adrian LaRowe all pitched an inning in the shutout effort.
Bobby McCormick hit 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBI and a run scored. Mike Tomeo went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI.
Neumann scored a run in the first inning to get started on the afternoon. The Knights then exploded for seven runs in the third inning. Derrek Etsell hit a two-run single in that inning.
In the seventh inning, Tomeo hit a two-run double to cap the scoring in the game.
With the win, the Knights improve to 17-3. Lancaster Bible drops to 7-8. Neumann will travel to Keystone on Friday afternoon for a conference single game. The Knights will then return home on Saturday afternoon to host Keystone in a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 12 p.m.
