Knights Bats on Fire in 17-1 Win

FLEMINGTON, N.J. – The Neumann University baseball team defeated Centenary College 17-1 on Friday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.


Bill Pace went 3-for-6 with four RBI and scored two runs. Mathieu Vallieres knocked in three runs on the afternoon. Kevin Flanigan and Eric Silakowski each scored three runs.

Matthew Smith went 6.0 innings, allowing one run on four hits and struck out six in the win. Adrian LaRowe went two innings and George Hatton pitched the ninth inning.

Neumann's bats were on fire in the second and third innings as the Knights plated 11 runs. Flanigan hit a two-run double in the second. Pace knocked a three-run shot to left-center in the third inning.

The Knights added two more runs in the seventh and four in the eighth for their 17 runs on 15 hits in the game.

Neumann is now 19-6 on the season 3-4 in the CSAC. The two teams will meet tomorrow afternoon for a conference doubleheader. The game will begin at 1 p.m. (original start time was 12 p.m.)
