ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball will compete in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship this weekend at Bear Stadium in Boyertown, Pa.
The Knights are the No. 4 seed in the postseason. Neumann fell to first seeded Keystone 5-3 on Wednesday in a first round game. In the other first round game, No. 3 Immaculata defeated No. 2 Gwynedd-Mercy 12-11 in 10 innings.
Neumann and Gwynedd-Mercy will face each other in the first elimination game of the double-elimination tournament. Game time is slated for 3 p.m. Immaculata and Keystone will start the day at 11 a.m.
The winner of the Neumann/Gwynedd-Mercy game and the loser of the Immaculata/Keystone game will play each other at 7 p.m. in another elimination game on Friday.
The Championship game will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bear Stadium between the winner of the 11 a.m. game and the 7 p.m. game.
Tickets for the Championship are $5 for adults, $3 for students with ID and senior citizens and $1 for kids under 12.
The Knights were 2-1 against the Griffins this season with each team winning on their home turf. Michael Tomeo scored three runs and hit a two-run homerun in a 6-3 win. Tomeo then hit a two-run single in a 5-3 win to sweep the double-header and take the season series.
