BALTIMORE, Md. – Neumann University women's Tennis team lost in Conference play to Notre Dame University of Maryland 5-4.

The Knights seem to thrive on close matches, but today the women's tennis team dropped the close match. Susan Staiber 6-2, 6-2 and Gabrielle Porcelli 6-3, 6-1 won their singles matches in style. Breanne Klar 6-1, 7-5; Teresa Kozin 6-1, 6-3; Chyann Howard 6-2, 6-2 and Kathleen Blaine 6-4, 6-1 lost their singles matches.

In doubles action, the Knights excelled winning two of three matches. Porcelli/Kozin 8-6 and Howard/Blaine 9-8 (8-6) won. Howard and Blaine came back from quite a deficit winning in tie breaker. Staiber/Klar lost their doubles 8-6.

“Girls played a tough match today, as we played with lot of heart and support on the courts,” said Coach Chamberlain.  We are positive natured team and look forward to competing tomorrow.”
