ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team used a big second half to defeat Philadelphia Biblical University, 79-55, in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on Saturday afternoon.
Mike Walukiewicz hit three three-pointers to lead the Knights with 17 points. Patrick O'Connor notched 12 points. Twelve out of the 14 Knights put hit baskets in the game.
Neumann held PBU to just two points in the first five minutes of the game and built a 15-2 advantage. Each team would have mini runs during the half, but the Knights always held the lead. The Crimson Eagles would get to within four points, 32-28, with 1:43 left in the first half. Brandon Herrington hit a three-pointer for the Knights with eight ticks left and Neumann held a 35-28 advantage at the break.
Neumann came out on fire in the second half. In the first seven minutes, the Knights outscored the Crimson Eagles 24-5 for a 59-33 lead. Neumann never looked back and took home the 79-55 game.
The Knights improve to 8-8 overall and 5-4 in the conference. Neumann is on the road for the next two games. The first stop will be at Baptist Bible on Wednesday and Keystone next Saturday.
