CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Neumann University men's soccer team (11-5-3 overall, 7-0-1 CSAC) remain unbeaten in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) as it won 3-0 against Baptist Bible College Tuesday afternoon.
The conditions were poor, as the grass field was wet and soggy. In other words, it was a great day for soccer. The Knights showed their optimism right off the tap to start the game.
Andy Attah, Michael Atallian and Nathan Beideman scored to lead the Knights.
Attah opened the scoring in the 16th minute into game to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. Atallian gave the ball to Attah as he beat a few Defenders before placing the ball into the net with the outside of his foot.
The Knights would create plenty of opportunities, but they wouldn't cash in until the second half. Chace Wasco slotted the ball across the box from a wide position to an awaiting Atallian to slam the ball into the net from six yards out.
Beideman scored in the 87th minute from a broken play. He won the ball 30 yards from goal and unleashed a “Sharky Attack” shot with plenty of bite to it.
The Defenders managed four shots to the Knights 27 shots as Tim Glaccum was able to close the door on the Defenders attacks and get a shutout. Glaccum made three saves on the day.
The men's soccer team will honor their seven seniors when they play at home Saturday October 27 against CSAC rivals, Rosemont College, slated for a 2 p.m. start.
