Box Score

LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team surged past Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) rivals Philadelphia Biblical University Saturday afternoon 79-59.

The road games have not been too friendly for the Knights this season. But if there was a time to make a statement, it would be now. The Knights put the pedal to the medal and walk away with a hop in their step, as they look forward to Cabrini College.

The Crimson Eagles began the game optimistically, as they enjoyed a 6-4 lead for the first 4:05 of the game. Then the Knights would go on an 18-0 run that would all but seal the deal for the day. Mike Walukiewicz would drain two three pointers (finishing with 13 points), Mark Blount (finished with 18 points) followed with a layup, Bill Slade popped in a three pointer then a two pointer (finishing with 13 points) in the 18-0 run. Blount continued the fun squeezing in a layup and Steve Warhola shot “Brooklyn style” for a three pointer, concluding the 18 point swing. The first half finished with a 46-19 Knights lead.

The Crimson Eagles fought hard to make the game respectable, as they outscored the Knights in the second half. Where the Crimson Eagles excelled was in scoring off the Knights turnovers, accounting for 17 of their 40 second half points.

Congratulations to Mark Blount for breaking his own single season block record in today's game. Last year the sophomore shattered the record with 69 blocks. The two blocks against the Crimson Eagles today gave him 70 for the season.

The Knights (11-11, 8-7 CSAC) take on the No. 1 team in the CSAC, Cabrini College February 8th for an 8 p.m. tipoff, following the women's basketball game against Cabrini.
