Knights Get Past Bulldogs, 5-2

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team extended its winning streak to 12 by defeating DeSales University 5-2 on Wedneday afternoon.

 

Kevin Flanigan went 3-for-4 in the game. Will Flores was 3-fot-5. JJ Sims picked up his first win of the season, going 4.0 innings in relief and striking out five. Erik Klimoff got his seventh save of the season, pitching a perfect ninth inning.

 

DeSales scored the games first run in the third inning. The Knights answered right back as Tyler Drinkard knocked in Flanigan in the top of the fourth. The same happened in the bottom of the fourth and the top of the fifth.

 

Neumann scored the go-ahead runs in the seventh inning. Buddy Elgin started the inning getting on base off a Bulldog error. Elgin scored as Flores tripled. Flores then scored as Bill Paced hit a single. Paced scored an unearned insurance run as Flanigan knocked him in on a single.

 

The Knights are now 14-3 on the season. Neumann opens conference play this weekend against Centenary.
