IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Neumann University softball team swept a pair of Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) games at Immaculata University on Saturday afternoon. Game scores were 8-7 and 6-3.

In the first game, the Knights pounded out 14 hits en route to the 8-7 win. Neumann took the lead for good in the game as Mariah Ripken hit a two-double in the fourth inning. Jacki Herrington hit a three-run homerun in the fifth inning for a 6-2 lead.

The Mighty Macs did not go quietly and plated four runs on two homeruns in the bottom of the seventh, but the Knights held on for the 8-7 win. Rachel Purpuro 7.0 innings and struck out four.

In game two, Herrington put Neumann on the board with a two-run homerun in the fourth inning. Callie Emel hit her own shot in the sixth inning for a 5-1 Knights lead.

Immaculata put two runs on the board in the bottom of the seventh, but again the Knights held on for the win and the sweep.

Sarah McGann went 7.0 innings in the win and struck out two.
