Softball's McGann Pitches "No-Hitter"

 LANGHORN, Pa. – The Neumann University softball team swept the Philadelphia Biblical University in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) by the score s of 8-0 (6 innings) and 11-0 (5 innings), Saturday afternoon.

The Knights held the Crimson scoreless in the both games and the mercy rule was put in affect.

Sarah McGann pitched a no-hitter to the delight of the Neumann fans present at the game. She was one walk away from a perfect game.

Megan Williams, Callie Emel and Crystal Perlman went 2-for-3 in game one.

The Knights did not have any big innings, but were steady in scoring runs in the first, third, fourth and sixth innings.

In game two, the Knights were indignant in getting the game taken care of in five innings.

Rachel Purpuro pitched a shutout and conceded on two hits.

The Knights caused four errors and used the third inning to post six runs.

Becca Reinhart went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and Nicole Zamudio went 2-for-3 with 1 RBI.

The softball team is back in action on Wednesday at Widener University for a doubleheader starting at 5 p.m.
