CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Neumann University women's tennis team picked up its third Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) win in as many matches with a 9-0 win at Baptist Bible College on Saturday afternoon.
The duo of Breanne Klar and Sarah Schroeder won at first doubles with ease, 8-2. Gabrielle Porcelli and Teresa Kozin shutout their opponent at second doubles, 8-0. Heather Nicholson and Cherie Allen came back from behind and battled to an 8-5 win.
All of the Knights kept the momentum built in doubles action and brought it in singles play. Klar took her first singles match 6-2, 6-3. Schroeder continued the dominance at second singles 6-0, 6-1. Porcelli won third singles 6-1, 6-1 and Kozin handled fourth singles 6-4, 6-1. Allen (8-2) and Nicholson (8-1) won fifth and sixth singles, respectively, in superset fashion.
“Neumann tennis is definitely having its best week,” said Head Coach Kayla Chamberlain, who won her first 9-0 match with the win. “The girls gained so much confidence this week. I am very proud of them.”
Neumann (3-2, 3-1 CSAC) will travel to Albright College on Monday afternoon for a non-conference match-up beginning at 4:00 PM.
