ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's tennis team picked up its first non-conference win with a 8-1 decision on Eastern University on Thursday afternoon.

Neumann started the match strong, sweeping all three doubles matches. Breanne Klar and Sarah Schroeder won first doubles 8-3. Teresa Kozin and Gabrielle Porcelli took second doubles 8-2. Cherie Allen and Heather Nicholson completed the doubles sweep with a 8-4 win at third doubles.

The Knights continued their dominance in singles action, taking second through sixth singles. Schroeder won her match, 6-1, 6-2 at the second slot. Porcelli won third singles, 6-0, 6-2. At fourth singles, Kozin won 6-1, 6-0. Allen toughed out her match at fifth singles 6-3, 6-4. Nicholson completed the win with an 8-1 superset win at sixth singles.

Neumann (5-6) will participate in the Goucher College Tennis Invitational this weekend.
