ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team lost 4-1 to Utica College in the ECAC West, Sunday afternoon.
The Knights gave up two power play goals and Ang Gilmour scored the only goal for the Knights.
The Pioneers scored the first goal in the first period on a power play at the 10:39 mark into the game. Shannon Donnelly recorded 15 of her 35 saves in the first period.
The Knights evened the score 1-1 in the second period when Gilmour powered her way to goal and slapped a shot home on a great individual effort. The assist came from Lynsey Nakamura and Keira St - Laurent 7:29 into the period.
The Pioneers scored in the later part of the second to take a 2-1 lead.
The Pioneers scored two goals in the third period to seal the win, despite the cheering from the loud Knights fans.
The Knights (5-12-1, 3-7 ECAC West) hit the road next weekend and play against ECAC West opponents Potsdam State Saturday January 26 and 27.
