ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team defeated Manhattanville College 7-4 on Saturday afternoon in ECAC West action.

McKay netted his goal just 1:47 into the first period. Anthony Pino (first collegiate point) and Jeff Bienvenue drew the assists. After what looked to be like a quiet first period, a flurry of penalties were taken by each team. Manhattanville scored a power play goal with 55 seconds left to tie the game before the intermission.

The Knights came out in the second period and found the back of the net four times. Ryan Luiten scored four minutes into the period off an assist from Bournazos to give the Knights a 2-1 lead, a lead in which they would not relinquish. O'Neil notched his first collegiate goal and point at the 5:35 mark for a 3-1 Neumann lead. O'Neil then scored his second goal right after he came out of the penalty box. Dan McDougall passed the puck to O'Neill as he came out of the box for a breakaway. O'Neil snapped a wrist shot past the Valient goalie at the 14:44 mark.

Shane Topf, who also netted his first collegiate goal, scored less than a minute later. The eventual game-winning goal was assisted by O'Neill, his third straight point, and CJ Cruz.

Two minutes into the third period, Bournazos scored on the man advantage for a 6-1 Knights lead. Sather and Sam House drew the assists. Manhattanville would notch two consecutive goals, on coming on the power play, for a 6-3 3 game.

The Valients pulled their goalie and Shayne Morrissey sank an empty net goal, off a pass from Sather. Manhattanville was not quiet done and scored with 37 seconds left in the game for the 7-3 final.

Neumann wore special Movember jerseys to show support and bring awareness to men's health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives.

Neumann (2-3-1, 2-3-1 ECAC West) will head to Cortland State next weekend for non-conference action. The game on Friday gets underway at 7:00 PM while action on Saturday begins at 3:00 PM.
