Softball Tramples Giants

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University softball team swept a doubleheader with Keystone College on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action. Game scores were 7-2 and 9-1 (6 inn.).

 

In game one, Danielle Grayson went 3-for-3 and knocked in two runs. Becca Reinhart was 2-for-4, knocked in two runs and scored two runs. Lauren Wilkie picked up the win, allowing two runs and striking out five.

 

The Knights bats came alive in the fifth and sixth inning, scoring six runs. Allie White hit a solo shot in the fifth and then Reinhart scored on a double by Grayson.

 

Megan Williams hit a two-run homerun in the sixth and Reinhart had a two-run single.

 

In the second game, the Knights took advantage of some early errors by the Giants and plated five runs in the first inning. Callie Emel hit a three-run homerun.

 

Neumann then plated three runs in the sixth inning for the 9-1 win. Reinhart notched her 100th career hit with an RBI single in the sixth inning as well as hit two triples in the game.

 

Allyson Parris went 6.0 innings, allowing one run on four hits and struck out five.

 

Neumann (8-8, 6-0 CSAC) will travel to Centenary College tomorrow for a rescheduled conference doubleheader beginning at 1:00 PM.
