Baseball Splits with St. John Fisher

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team split a doubleheader with St. John Fisher College on Sunday afternoon in non-conference action. Neumann won the first game 1-0 in eight innings before falling 6-1.

 

In the first game, the Knights scored the only run, an unearned run, in the bottom of the eighth inning for the 1-0 win. Will Flores knocked in Trevor Wilkins for the win.

 

Kristian Deluzio started the game and went 6.2 innings. He allowed five hits and struck out five. Erik Klimoff picked up his fourth win of the season as he went 1.1 innings in relief.

 

The Knights could not keep the Cardinals bats quite in the second game. St. John Fisher scored three runs in the fourth and three runs in the sixth for a 6-0 lead.

 

Neumann scored its run in the bottom of the sixth when Tyler Drinkard knocked in Bobby McCormick.

 

Kevin Joo started the game and went 4.0 innings in the loss. He allowed three runs on four hits. Ted Fletcher pitched a scoreless fifth inning. Brendan Melody went 0.2 innings and Jake Yarber finished the game, striking out three in 1.1 innings.

 

Neumann is 13-4 overall. The Knights travel to Marywood on Thursday for a conference doubleheader beginning at 12:00 PM.
