FT. MYERS, Fla. – The Neumann University baseball team pulled out an 11-10 win against Ohio Northern this morning in Ft. Myers, Fla.
Tyler Drinkard went 3-for-4 and scored two runs. Matt Sheneman was also 3-for-3 with five RBI and two runs scored. He also hit a three-run homerun in the fifth inning.
Neumann scored four runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 4-1 lead. Sheneman had a two-run double in the inning.
The teams traded runs throughout the game and went into the eighth inning tied at 10. In the bottom of the eighth, Bill Pace walked and scored on a single by Andrew Snow for an 11-10 lead.
Jake Yarber came into pitch the top of the ninth and came away with his second save of the season. Erik Klimoff picked up the win, going 2.0 innings in relief. Kristian Deluzio started the game and went 5.2 innings, allowing six runs, three earned, and stuck out five. Kevin Joo finished the sixth inning in relief.
Neumann is 6-2 so far this season. The Knights will next face Thiel College on Friday morning for a single game beginning at 10:00 AM.
