LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team swept a doubleheader at Cairn University on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action. Game scores were 18-3 and 15-1.

In the first game, the Knights plated 18 runs on 13 hits. Ryan Ficca went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI. Matt Sheneman was 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored. .

After the Highlanders went up 2-0 in the first inning, the Knights scored five runs in the top of the second inning, four in the fourth and seven in the sixth. Marty Sessa hit a two-run single as part of the seven runs.  

Kristian Deluzio went 6.0 innings for the win. JJ Sims pitched the seventh inning.

In game two, Matt Spillman went 4.0 innings for the win, allowing just one unearned run. Adrian LaRowe, Jake Yarber and Erik Klimoff each went one inning.

Tyler Drinkard had five RBI in the game. Buddy Elgin went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Will Flores scored two runs.

Drinkard picked up his first two RBI in the top of the first inning. Buddy Elgin had a two-run single in the second inning as Neumann jumped out to a 6-0 lead. Drinkard had the Knights lone extra base hit in the fifth inning, a two RBI double.

The Knights added six runs in the top of the seventh inning en route to the 15-1 win. Sheneman and Bobby McCormick each had a two-run single in the inning.

In the two games, the Knights had 27 all of which 26 were singles.

Neumann (18-8, 7-4 CSAC) will host Cairn in a single game on Monday afternoon beginning at 4 PM.
