ASTON, Pa, - The Neumann University baseball team completed the season series sweep of Cairn University on Monday afternoon by a 10-1 score in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.

Buddy Elgin and Ryan Ficca each had three hits in the game. Ted Fletcher started the game and picked up his first win of the season, going 7.0 innings. He allowed one run on three hits and struck out five. Richard Llagas and Brendan Melody each pitched one inning.

Neumann broke a scoreless game with five runs in the fifth inning. Elgin and Tyler Drinkard started the inning with back-to-back singles followed by a walk by Matt Sheneman for the bases loaded and no one out. Bill Pace came through with an RBI single. Joey Armata hit a sacrifice fly and then Paul Smith hit an RBI single. Ficca knocked in two with a double for a 5-0 Knights lead.

Elgin knocked in two runs in the sixth inning as the Knights put three more runs on the board. Neumann wrapped up its scoring with two runs in the seventh.

Neumann improves to 19-8 overall and 8-4 in conference action. The Knights host Rowan tomorrow afternoon in non-conference action beginning at 4 PM.
