ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University softball team remained perfect in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action with a sweep of Cabrini on Wednesday afternoon. Game scores were 9-0 in five innings and 6-5.

In the first game, Neumann exploded for seven runs in the third inning en route to a 9-0 win in five innings. Mariah Ripken hit a two-run single and finished the game with three RBI. Becca Reinhart capped the inning with a two-run single.

Callie Emel had three hits in the game. Lauren Wilkie pitched a complete game for the shutout. She struck out nine.

Neumann scored a run in each of the first three innings to take a 3-0 lead. Cabrini put a string of hits together and capitalized on a Knights error to score five runs in the top of the third and take a 5-3 lead. Neumann responded with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take back the lead.

Allyson Parris went 7.0 innings for the win. She allowed five runs, one earned, and struck out three.

Neumann (20-10, 18-0 CSAC) will host Misericordia tomorrow for a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 3 PM.
