Baseball Prevails Over Crusaders

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team picked up a 5-1 non-conference win over Susquehanna University on Thursday afternoon.

 

The Knights scored their first run in the second inning as Bill Pace scored when Joey Armata reached on an error by third base. Buddy Elgin knocked in one run followed by Tyler Drinkard knocking in two as Neumann added three runs in the third inning to take a 4-0 lead.

 

The Knights added an unearned run in the fifth inning for a 5-0 advantage. The Crusaders lone run came in the seventh inning.

 

Kristian Deluzio went 7.2 innings for the win. He allowed one unearned run on seven hits and struck out four. Brendan Melody went 1.1 innings for the save.

 

Neumann (20-9) goes back into conference play tomorrow when it travels to Centenary for a 3:00 PM first pitch.
