Women's Hockey Plays to 4-4 Draw

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's hockey team tied SUNY-Potsdam 4-4 this afternoon in ECAC West action;

Neumann scored the first goal as Grace Klienbach found the back of the net 8:36 into the game. Keira St - Laurent tallied the assist. Potsdam scored two goals before the end of the period to hold a 2-1 lead into intermission.

Meghan Power knotted the game at two 6:42 into the second period off assists from Angela Gilmour and Danica Delry. Thirty seconds later, Donna Williams found the back of the net, off a pass from Kelly Fox, to put the Knights up 3-2.

The Bears netted a power play goal at the 12:57 mark to tie the game at three. Potsdam took a 4-3 lead with two seconds left in the second period off a bouncing puck.

Megan Russelo tied the game at four on an unassisted goal in the third period. Russelo game down the wing and snapped a wrist shot past the Bears goalie.

Neither team could find the back of the net in overtime and the teams came away with the 4-4 tie.

Justina Mayr made 14 saves in net.

Neumann (3-10-1, 1-6-1 ECAC West) will host Stevenson next weekend in non-conference action. The puck is slated to drop at 3:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
