ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's hockey team defeated Chatham University 3-2 in overtime on Friday evening in ECAC West action.

Meghan Power scored off a pass from Angela Gilmour with 1:25 left in the overtime session for the 3-2 win.

Megan Russelo put Neumann on the board 4:53 into the game and the Knights took a 1-0 lead into the intermission.

Chatham tied the game with a 5-on-3 power play goal 2:53 into the second period. The Cougars then took a 2-1 lead when they converted a penalty shot. Shanelle Doucette tied the game at two, off a pass from Edie Brenning, midway through the second period.

The teams played a scoreless third period to send the game into overtime.

Justina Mayr made 17 saves in net. Neumann outshot Chatham 57-19.

Neumann (5-11-1, 2-6-1 ECAC West) and Chatham (3-13-2, 2-9 ECAC West) will face-off again tomorrow afternoon. The puck is slated to drop at 3:00 PM. The seniors will be recognized during the pregame.
