ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's tennis team picked up an 8-1 win over Notre Dame of Maryland University on Friday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference action.
Bre Klar and Sarah Schroeder opened doubles action with an 8-0 win at the first slot. Teresa Kozin and Cherie Allen took second singles 8-1. Talene Brinker and Lilly Escobar wrapped up the doubles sweep at third doubles with an 8-0 win.
Klar opened singles action with a 6-1, 6-0 win in the first flight. Brinker took second singles 6-0, 6-2. Schroeder won third singles 6-0, 6-1. Allen swept fourth singles by a 6-0, 6-0 score. Kozin won fifth singles in a proset 8-0. Escobar was leading 6-2, 5-5 before having to withdawl.
Neumann (8-5, 6-3 CSAC) will host Immaculata tomorrow afternoon in the regular season finale. The winner will clinch the fourth seed in the postseason. Action gets underway at 1:00 PM.
