BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Neumann University women's ice hockey team battled into overtime, but dropped a 3-2 decision to Buffalo State College on Saturday afternoon.

Sarah Thon put the Knights on the board first at the 16:11 mark of the first period. Grace Klienbach and Megan Russelo drew the assists.

The Bengals scored twice in the second period to take a 2-1 lead heading into the final 20 minutes.

Bek Lucas scored an unassisted goal at the 16:10 mark of the third period to bring the teams even at two. That sent the game into overtime.

Buffalo State was able to take the game with a goal 1:52 into the extra time.

Justina Mayr made 23 saves in net. Neumann (0-6, 0-4 ECAC West) heads to William Smith College for the first meetings between the two schools next weekend. Action gets underway at 4:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
