ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's hockey team fell to Chatham University 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in ECAC West action.
Before the game, the Knights recognized their three seniors: Angela Gilmour, Dru Austin and Edie Brenning.
Chatham scored a goal in each period en route to the 3-0 win. The Cougars scored their first goal with 31 seconds remaining in the first period.
In the second period, the Knights were awarded a penalty shot, but the Cougars goalie turned away the shot to keep their 1-0 lead. At the 16:54 mark, Chatham added to its lead and took a 2-0 lead into the second intermission.
The Cougars added an empty net goal with 20 seconds left in regulation to seal the 3-0 win.
Neumann outshot Chatham 27-13. Justina Mayr made 10 saves in net.
Neumann (5-12-1, 2-7-1 ECAC West) will host SUNY-Canton on Tuesday evening in non-conference action. The puck is slated to drop at 7:00 PM.
