ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team defeated SUNY-Canton 3-1 on Tuesday evening in non-conference action.

Megan Russelo had two goals and an assist in the win. Dru Austin added a goal and an assist. Julia Fair made 15 saves in net.

Russelo opened the scoring in the first period on the power play. Shanelle Doucette notched the assist.

The second period and most of the third period was quiet, until Canton tied the game at one with 4:51 left in regulation. The Knights responded quickly, taking back the lead 17 seconds later as Austin found the back of the net. Grace Klienbach and Russelo tallied the assists.

Russelo sealed the win with a shorthanded, empty net goal with 1:13 left in the third period. Austin got the puck to Russelo.

Neumann (6-14-1) heads to Buffalo State this weekend for a pair of conference games on Saturday and Sunday.
