BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team fell at Buffalo State College, 3-2, on Saturday afternoon in ECAC West action.

Shanelle Doucette had a goal and an assist. Julia Fair made 17 saves in net in just over 43 minutes of play. Justina Mayr made three saves in net in relief.

Buffalo State opened the scoring with 3:56 left in the first period on the power play. The Bengals then took a 2-0 lead mid way through the second period.

Buffalo State netted the eventual game-winner 3:13 into the final period. Doucette ended the shutout bid with a shorthanded goal at the 14:11 mark. Danica Delry drew the assist. Kelsey Waller got the Knights to within one, 3-2, with 17 seconds left on the clock and on the power play. Neumann attempted to net the game-tying goal with the goalie pulled, but it could not complete the comeback.

Neumann (6-15-1, 2-10-1 ECAC West) and Buffalo State (3-19, 3-12 ECAC West) will face-off again tomorrow afternoon beginning at 2:00 PM.
