Baseball Picks Up Non-Conference Win at Albright

READING, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team picked up a 13-5 non-conference win at Albright College on Thursday afternoon.

Kyle Leone had four hits for the Knights. Buddy Elgin had three hits, including a two-run homerun. Matt Sheneman had three hits and scored three runs. AJ Koscelansky also had three hits.

Adam Holowienka started the game and went the first four innings. He allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out six. Jarad Carney pitched two innings in relief for the win. He allowed one unearned run on two hits. Ed Hild picked up a three inning save where he allowed one run on five hits.

Neumann put seven runs on the board in the top of the third inning to take a 7-0 led. Cam Stimpson started the inning with a walk and scored on a sacrifice fly by Ryan Clark. Elgin hit his two-run shot to score Leone. Sheneman followed with a double as part of seven straight Knights reached base. Leone capped the scoring with a two-run single.


In the fourth inning, the Knights put three more runs on the board, including a two-run single by Trevor Wilkins. Neumann added a run in the seventh and two in the eighth to seal the 13-5 win.

Neumann (9-11) will travel to Centenary for a conference doubleheader tomorrow afternoon beginning at 4:00 PM. The Knights return home on Saturday for the single game against the Cyclones with a 2:00 PM first pitch.
