ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team dropped the series finale with Centenary College 12-8 on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
Kevin Case scored for the Knights in the first inning on a Cyclones wild pitch.
Centenary answered in the third inning with three runs and would never relinquish the lead. The Cyclones added five runs in the sixth inning to take a 9-2 advantage.
Neumann was able to plate three runs in the sixth inning. Ryan Clark hit an RBI triple in the inning. In the bottom of the eighth, the Knights scored three more runs. Evan Worth knocked in two with a single, for a 12-8 game heading into the ninth inning.
The Knights were not able to get a rally going in the ninth inning.
Patrick Graham started the game and went 3.0 innings. Seven more pitchers came into the game for the Knights.
Neumann (11-12, 7-5 CSAC) travels to Stevenson University tomorrow for a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 1:00 PM.
