Baseball Takes Two From Mustangs

OWINGS MILLS, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team took a doubleheader at Stevenson University on Sunday afternoon in non-conference action. Game scores were 10-3 and 9-4.

In game one, Ted Fletcher went 5.0 innings to pick up the win. He allowed three runs, two earned, on three hits and struck out six. Zach Youngberg went 2.0 innings and allowed just one hit.

Ryan Clark had four hits. Cam Stimpson had three hits and was a homerun short of the cycle. Matt Sheneman also had three hits.

Neumann jumped out to a 4-0 lead with four runs in the second inning. Kyle Leone hit a two-run double. The Knights also scored four runs in the sixth inning as they send eight batters to the plate.

In game two, Jalen Burks got with win, going 5.2 innings. He allowed four runs on five hits and struck out four. Adrian LaRowe and Kevin Giffin went the final 1.1 innings.

Buddy Elgin, AJ Koscelansky and Sheneman each had two-hit games.

Stimpson hit a two-run homerun in the fifth inning as the Knights scored three runs. Neumann also scored three runs in the eighth inning en route to the 9-4 win.

Neumann (13-12) will travel to Rowan on Tuesday for a single non-conference game beginning at 4:00 PM.
