ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University softball team took two Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) contests from Rosemont College on Tuesday afternoon. Game scores were 11-1 in five innings and 8-0 in six innings.

After Rosemont scored the first run of the game on a homerun in the top of the first, the Knights buckled down and plated 11 runs over the next four innings.

Allie White led the Knights half of the first inning off with a walk, she came around to score after Marisa Giordano singled and then advanced to third on an error, allowing White to score. Becca Reinhart then knocked in Giordano with a single.

Lauren Wilkie knocked in Megan Williams with a double in the second inning for a 3-1 Knights lead. Neumann plated three more runs in the third and five in the fourth. Becky Guinto hit a two-run double in the fourth inning.

Wilkie went 4.0 innings for the win. She allowed one run on one hit and struck out six. Allyson Parris pitched the fifth inning and struck out two.

In game two, Neumann took a 1-0 lead in the second inning as Carla D'Angelo knocked in Jamie Scannella on an RBI double. The Knights then took advantage of a Ravens error and plated three runs in the third inning.

Guinto ended the game with a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the sixth to score White for the 8-0 final.

Kristin Beaty went 4.0 innings for the win. She allowed one hit and struck out four. Haley Broomell went 2.0 hitless innings and struck out four.

Neumann (22-6, 18-2 CSAC) will host Widener tomorrow afternoon for a non-conference doubleheader. Action gets underway at 3:30 PM.
