DOVER, Del. – The Neumann University baseball team picked up a 9-1 win at Wesley College on Wednesday afternoon.

Bobby Sefick started his first collegiate game and went 7.0 innings for the win. He allowed just one run on four hits. Zach Youngberg pitched the final 2.0 innings.

AJ Koscelansky led the Knights on the offensive side, knocking in seven runs on three hits, including a grand slam.

The Knights started the game with three runs in the top of the first inning. Koscelansky hit a two-run double and then came around to score on a single by Kelvin Ortiz.

Neumann added single runs in the third and fourth for a 5-1 lead after four innings.

In the sixth innings, Koscelansky hit the ball over the fence in left field with the bases loaded to put the game out of reach.

The Wolverines loaded the based in the bottom of the sixth, but could not get a run across the plate. Welsey then went down in order in the final three innings.

Neumann (14-15) will open its weekend conference series with Keystone on Friday. The single game gets underway at 3:00 PM.
