Baseball Toppled by Giants

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team fell to Keystone College 6-2 on Friday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.

The teams opened the game by trading runs in the first inning. AJ Koscelansky knocked in Matt Sheneman for the Knights.

The Giants took a 2-1 lead with a solo homerun to lead off the top of the second. Keystone then added another run for a 3-1 score.

Buddy Elgin knocked in the second Knights run, Ryan Clark, in the bottom of the seventh.

The Giants added an insurance run in the top of the ninth. The Knights put runners on first and second in the bottom of the ninth, but they could not get another run across the plate.

Jalen Burks started the game and went 1.2 innings. He allowed three runs on three hits. Adam Holowienka went 3.1 innings in relief. He allowed one unearned run on three hits. Ted Fletcher and Zach Youngberg each went two innings.

Elgin and Kye Williams each had two hits.

Neumann (14-16, 7-6 CSAC) will travel to Keystone tomorrow for a conference doubleheader beginning at 12:00 PM.
